Airbus Industrie is a
consortium of European aviation firms created in 1967 after the British, French and
German governments signed a Memorandum of Understanding to develop an
airliner - the
Airbus A300. Airbus and Boeing currently dominate
the Worlds airliner production, the largest airliner in production for
many decades was the "Jumbo Jet" Boeing 747 series, but now the new
Airbus A380, due to enter service in 2007 is even bigger!
The Airbus A319 is a twin
engine, single aisle airliner based on the existing A320 design but shortened by 3.77m,
it can seats from between 200 and 280 passengers, the Airbus A319 made it's
first
flight on the 25th of August 1995.

about BMI British Midland
BMI was created in 1938 as "Air
Schools Ltd", during 1964, it had it's name changed to British Midland Airways
(BMA) and in February 2001 British Midland Airways joined the Star Alliance
and re-named it's self bmi british midland following a 30% acquisition
of the company by Lufthansa. BMI's mixed airliner fleet consists of Boeing,
Airbus and Embraer passenger aircraft.
