Boeing was created in
Washington by William E. Boeing in July 1916, as the “Pacific Aero
Products Co.” it was re-named “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of
May 1917. Today Boeing is the Worlds largest airliner manufacturer, only
Europe's Airbus is a major competitor.
The Boeing 767 range of
airliners was launched in
1978 mainly as the replacement for the successful but aging Boeing 707,
it's almost a wide-body jet variant of the Boeing 757 airliner which was
introduced about the same time. The Boeing 767-300/ER series are a
lengthened 200 series 767 airliner combined with a 11,305 km extended-range, they were introduced during 1988.

British Airways was initially
named and formed as
"Imperial Airways" during 1924 following the merger of Instone, Handley Page,
Daimler Airways and British Air Marine Navigation. In 1939 the British
government decided to nationalise Imperial Airways and British Airways and named the
resultant company British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). In 1972
BOAC and BEA were combined to create British Airways, the UK's national
airline, BA was privatised in 1987 by the UK Government. In 1988 BA
controversially acquired
British Caledonian, and in 1992 also acquired Dan-Air, it was now the second
largest airline within Europe. BA is operating a mixed fleet of mainly Airbus and Boeing
aircraft.
