Incorporated in
Washington by William E. Boeing on 15th of July 1916, as “Pacific Aero
Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” in mid 1917. Boeing
is now the Worlds largest manufacturer of
airliners with only Airbus as significant or major competitor.
The Boeing 757 entered service
in 1983 replacing the older Boeing 727 range of airliners. A total of
1,050 of these airliners had been produced when production finally ceased
in 2005. The Boeing 757-200 series can carry between 228 and 234
passengers, it is the most popular variant of the 757 range.
Some Boeing 757-236's have been converted into Special Freighters and are
designated Boeing 757-200/SF's Boeing 757-236/SF

British Airways was initially Founded as
"Imperial Airways" during 1924 following the merger of Instone, Handley Page,
Daimler Airways and British Air Marine Navigation. In 1939 the British
government decided to nationalise Imperial Airways and British Airways and named the
resultant company British Overseas Airways Corporation (BOAC). In 1972
BOAC and BEA were combined to create British Airways, the UK's national
airline, in 1987 British Airways was privatised. In 1988 BA purchased
British Caledonian, and in 1992 purchased Dan-Air making BA the second
largest airline in Europe. British Airways operates a large mixed fleet of
predominatly Airbus and Boeing
airliners.
