Boeing was incorporated in
Washington by William E. Boeing in July 1916, as “Pacific Aero
Products Co.” and was re-named the “Boeing Airplane Company” on the 9th of
May 1917. Today Boeing is the Worlds largest manufacturer of
airliners with only Airbus as significant or major competitor.
The Boeing 737 first took to
the air on 9th of April 1967, it was to remain in production for thirteen
years with relatively little change until the introduction of the 300
series airliners. The Boeing 737-400 series airliners are powered by twin
CFM56-3 turbofan engines, it is a stretched 737-300 series airliner, the
Boeing 737-400 series first entered commercial airline service in 1988.

Netherlands until it merged with Air France in May 2004 to become a
subsidiary of Air France-KLM.
