Information
about the BAe Avro 146-RJ100
The BAe 146 prototype first
flew in September 1981 and was produced by British Aerospace between
1983 and 2002. Powered by four relatively quiet turbofan jet engines the
BAE Systems Avro 146 was marketed as the "Whisperjet", it is in use by
many European airlines to serve inner city airports where noise limits
prohibited the use of "louder airliners" and it's 100 passenger capacity
was adequate.
