about the Fokker 50
Formed by the
Dutchman Anthony Fokker in 1912, Fokker was by the late 1920's the
largest aircraft manufacture anywhere in the world.
The Fokker 50 was designed in 1983 as a direct replacement for the Fokker
F27 Friendship aircraft and entered passenger service in 1987, it was destined to remain
in
production until 1996 when the Fokker Aircraft Company went into liquidation. The Fokker 50
has a maximum capacity of fifty passengers and can carry them a
distance of 2000 km at a speed of 530 km/h.
